Summer Hassan is an industrial design graduate from NUST who has been working at IDEATE Innovation, a design consultancy, for the past 2 years. She is skilled at creating tools and compelling techniques to assist the process of design learning and social innovation. She is experienced working in the healthcare sector, where she enhanced the patient experience by redesigning the wayfinding system of the Fauji Foundation Hospital from the ground up. Currently, she is working on a service design project to assist women and adolescent girls in rural areas with the uptake of contraceptives, specifically after self-use of medical abortion.
As a young designer who got a chance to work on problems of social innovation early in her career, Summer is excited to share what she has learned. She believes in the experimentation, transparency, and power of the process of design to bring satisfaction to the users.
